First off, let me just tell you that any restaurant that bases a majority of their menu around a chalkboard earns extra points in my book. As you walk into Sabrinas, on your right side are two giant chalkboards. One for brunch and another for Dinner, so pretty much I loved this place from the get-go. Not only did they have chalkboards, the building itself was a really cool setup. It was like sitting in someone’s house as there were tables in each of the different rooms and hallways connecting each room. It just had a very comfortable feel to it. The menu itself consisted of all kinds of unique dishes ranging from Philly Cheesesteak Pancakes and Pork-Bean and Grits to Raspberry and Oreo Stuffed French Toast and Salmon Burgers. Every option had some unique aspect to it and did great justice to the chalkboard menu concept.
I’ve only been to Sabrinas the one time, but the dish I had was a short rib sub. It was a giant sandwich piled with short ribs, broccoli-rabe, aged provolone, hot peppers, olives and a spicy red gravy all on a Sarcones roll. It was very tasty sandwich and was paired with a homemade coleslaw and a potato and arugula salad. All of the food that I saw coming out look amazing and all the portions were definitely oversized. It is definitely a place worth checking out for lunch, even though I’m sure dinner is great as well. After seeing all the dishes that came though as I was eating, I can guarantee that I will eat at Sabrinas many more times.
